The Chicago White Sox announced on Sunday that outfielder Eloy Jiménez has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.  The team estimates that Jiménez will miss six to eight weeks, but plans to have another update Tuesday after Jiménez has been evaluated further when the Sox have returned from their road trip.

The hamstring injury occurred during the White Sox’s 9-2 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Saturday.  Jiménez tried to sprint out a ground ball to third and stumbled after hitting the bag. He was taken off the field with pain in his right leg.

The White Sox are currently 6-8 on the season and rank third in the AL Central behind the Cleveland Guardians and the Twins.  Jiménez is having a great year thus far, with .222/.256/.333 this season.
