NHL Playoffs: Kraken dominate Stars; Panthers beat Maple Leafs

* In their Western Conference semifinal, the Seattle Kraken dominated the Dallas Stars 7-2 on Sunday night, to take a 2-1 series lead Jordan Eberle kicked-off the five-goal outburst in the second period for the Kraken, earning his fourth goal of the playoffs. Alex Wennberg doubled Seattle’s lead 1:26 after Eberle’s goal; with Carson Soucy and Matty Beniers making it 4-0.The Kraken made it 5-1 when Eeli Tolvanen scored with 37 seconds left in the period. Goaltender Philipp Grubauer made 24 saves to secure the win.

Game 4 will take place Tues, May 9th at 9:30pm in Seattle

* The Florida Panthers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Sunday night, to take a commanding 3-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series. The Panthers’ Sam Reinhart scored 3:02 into overtime for the game-winner, taking a pass back from Anton Lundell and scoring. Anthony Duclair and Carter Verhaeghe also scored for Florida, and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 22 shots. For Toronto, Sam Lafferty and Erik Gustafsson scored the team’s only 2 goals, while Joseph Woll stopped 18 of the 21 he faced for the Maple Leafs after he relieved starter Ilya Samsonov, who left early in the second period with an injury.

Game 4 will take place Wed, May 10th at 7:00 pm in Florida.
