A Norwich man who was brought to the hospital after being stabbed has been charged in connection to the incident that led to the stabbing. 25 year old Kelvin Perez-Gizman turned himself into police last week and is facing multiple charges including second degree strangulation and third degree assault. 


Connecticut college officials recently announced that a Presidential Search Committee has been formed and includes 15. Outgoing President Katherine Bergeron announced in March she planned to resign after a vote of no confidence from faculty.  


The company, hired by the Connecticut Port Authority to find an operator for State Pier in New London, agrees to pay another $10,000 fine in response to a state ethics complaint related to its work as a lobbyist. By agreeing to pay the fine, Seabury Maritime avoids a hearing on the issue and does not admit any wrongdoing.

 

There will be a special election in Norwich on Wednesday to fill a vacant City Council seat. Democrat Shiela Hayes and Republican William Nash are looking to fill State Rep Derell Wilson’s seat. Currently the city council has three republicans and three democrats. Polls will be open from 6:00a.m- 8:00p.m. 


Stonington officials announced that they have filled the vacant positions of public works director and town planner with the new employees scheduled to begin work today. The new public works director is Jeff Pescosolido and the new town planner is Clifton Iler.


Two people were arrested in connection to an alleged drug distribution and dog fighting operation on South County Trail in Exeter last week. 35 year old Mason Wilson is facing multiple charges in connection to the case. 29 year old Tarra Jackson was arrested for being in possession of drugs.
