Norm Pattis, the attorney for We the Patriots USA says that their view is that firearm rights are fundamental. Lamont claims that a majority of people in the state support the legislation.

A Ledyard man was in court yesterday after allegedly assaulting a woman with a milk jug at a home in Ledyard. Officers say 39 year old Gregory Startz also poured milk on the victim during the incident. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
Police have arrested the driver who allegedly struck and killed 69 year old Gary Piven on South Broad Street in Pawcatuck in March and then left the scene. Officers say 41 year old Jonathan Olsen of Stonington turned himself into police yesterday morning. He is charged with evading responsibility involving death.
A Pawtucket man was recently arrested in connection to a Norwich crash in 2022 on I-395 in Montville that killed two Norwich residents. 33 year old Jamie Krajewski and her son, 17 year old Tyshon Ozzie Harper were struck by 29 year old Derion Coker. Coker is charged with manslaughter and driving under the influence.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Block Island yesterday to celebrate the launch of BroadbandBI. Officials say that the upgraded service will provide universal, affordable, and high-speed connectivity to the island. It is the state’s first municipally-owned fiber broadband network.
