East Lyme police were called to a Niantic daycare last week after a loaded gun was found in an infant’s diaper bag by a staff member. Officials say that the employee of Ballestrini’s Child Care Centers secured the firearm and immediately notified police. Authorities determined the incident was not criminal in nature.
Yesterday Attorney General Peter Neronha’s office ruled that Governor Dan McKee must release an email alleging misconduct by top officials on a business trip earlier this year. The decision found that McKee’s administration violated the Access to Public Records Act after multiple complaints. McKee now has five days to release the e-mail.
