Free agent pitcher Aroldis Chapman announced he has signed a one-year contract with the Boston Red Sox. Chapman posted a photo of himself wearing a Red Sox hat on social media pages with the caption: “Let’s go!”

Sources told ESPN that Chapman’s one-year deal with the Red Sox is worth $10.75 million, pending the completion of a physical. Chapman, who turns 37 before the coming season, went 5-5 with a 3.79 ERA and logged 14 saves over 68 appearances last season for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Red Sox went 81-81 and failed to make the playoffs for the third-consecutive season in 2024, with their bullpen posting the seventh-worst ERA (4.39) in the MLB last season.
