The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Bills 42-36 in overtime to advance to the AFC Championship for the fourth consecutive season — something that has never been accomplished before in the conference’s 51-year history.

With the Bills holding onto a 36-33 lead with only 13 seconds remaining, the Chiefs were able to pick up 19 yards on a quick pass to Tyreek Hill, leaving eight seconds on the clock. Travis Kelce caught the next pass and with three seconds remaining, Harrison Butker nailed a 48-yard field goal to send the game to overtime.

The Chiefs won the coin toss and began the first drive of overtime at their own 25-yard line. Mahomes completed a 10 yard pass to Kelce on third-and-1, and a pass to Jerrick McKinnon took the ball inside the Bills’ 40-yard line. A catch-and-run by Mecole Hardman gave the Chiefs first-and-goal at the Bills’ 7-yard line. Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce for an 8-yard touchdown to end the game in OT, winning with a score of 42-36.

Next up: The Chiefs will host the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship, at 3 p.m. ET Jan. 30 at Arrowhead Stadium.
