NHL Playoffs: Panthers beat Maple Leafs, Stars defeat Kraken

* The Florida Panthers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Thursday night in Toronto to take a 2-0 lead in their second-round playoff series.  Sergei Bobrovsky made 34 saves, and Anton Lundell had a goal and an assist, while Aleksander Barkov and Gustav Forsling also scored for Florida.  For Toronto, Ryan O’Reilly and Alexander Kerfoot scored, and Ilya Samsonov stopped 26 shots.

Game 3 between the Panthers and Maple Leafs will take place on Sunday, May 7th at 6:30 pm in Florida.

* The Dallas Stars beat the Seattle Kraken 4-2 on Thursday night to tie the second-round series at 1-1. Joe Pavelski scored his fifth goal in two games since returning from concussion protocol with an assist from Wyatt Johnston, who also scored, and Evgenii Dadonov and Tyler Seguin, who added to the Stars victory. Jake Oettinger had 25 saves for the Stars, with goaltender Philipp Grubauer stopping 33 shots.

The Stars and Kraken will meet for Game 3 on Sunday, May 7th at 9:30pm in Seattle.
